How We Grade Every Piece

"Used" means somebody owned it first. Minor scuffs and dings are normal, and we tell you about them before you buy. Here is the scale.

Grade A

Looks nearly new. Cleaned, inspected, worn parts replaced. You would have to hunt for the flaw.

Grade B

Light wear you'll stop noticing in a week. A scuffed base, a faded panel edge. Fully functional, priced to match.

As-Is

Just what it says. Cosmetic wear or a known quirk, disclosed up front, at the lowest price on the floor.

Grade A and Grade B pieces carry a 90-day mechanical warranty, in writing.

Used Storage Questions We Hear a Lot

Why is used storage such a good deal?

Steel files are nearly indestructible, so a ten-year-old lateral works like a new one at a third of the price. It's the first category we point budget buyers to.

Do used files come with keys?

When the liquidation includes them, yes. When not, we can have replacement keys cut for most major brands for a few dollars a cabinet.

How much does used office storage cost?

A used two-drawer lateral file runs $100 to $250, and a four-drawer runs $175 to $400. Steel storage cabinets run $125 to $300 and bookcases start around $60. Storage is the deepest discount in used furniture because steel doesn't really age.

How fast can I get used filing cabinets?

In-stock units go out within 24 hours. Storage is one of the few categories where we usually have depth, so matching sets of six or ten laterals are often available immediately rather than on a lead time.

What condition is used storage in?

Graded like everything else. Grade A is nearly new. Grade B has minor surface scuffs, usually on the top or a drawer front. We test every drawer through its full travel and replace slides that bind before a cabinet goes on the floor.

Will a used cabinet match our existing ones?

Often close, rarely exact. Manufacturer whites and putties have shifted over the years. If matching matters, buy the whole run at once. If it doesn't, mixing a black cabinet into a putty run reads as deliberate more often than a near-miss white does.

Can I see used storage in person?

Yes. Our Columbus warehouse on Alum Industrial Drive keeps used storage on the floor. Cabinets are the easiest category to judge in person and the hardest to judge from a photo, so it's worth the visit if you're buying a dozen.

Do you deliver and install used storage in Columbus?

Yes, across Columbus and central Ohio with our own crew. We set, level, and wall-anchor anything over 42 inches as part of the delivery, and we'll take your old cabinets away on the same trip.
