How We Plan A Whole Office

Rules of thumb from the projects we install every week. Every plan starts with a walkthrough or your floor plan, and you see the layout in 3D before anything is ordered.

Start with the headcount and the ratios

Plan 100 to 150 usable square feet per person for an open-plan office and 150 to 200 for a traditional one with more private offices. Seventy to eighty percent of people sit at workstations, ten to fifteen percent in offices, and the rest of the floor is meeting, lobby and break space.

Count the rooms from the people

One conference seat for every five to six people, one huddle room for every ten to twelve, a training room once you pass forty, and break room seats for a quarter of the floor. A lobby sized for the busiest hour.

Set the standards once

One workstation, one manager office, one executive office, one chair line and one finish family. Every space on this site is built from those standards, so the plan prices quickly and the tenth office matches the first.

Phase the install around the move

Made-to-order lines take four to eight weeks; in-stock pieces ship from our Columbus warehouse in days. We sequence deliveries so the floor is ready when the movers arrive, and we clear the old furniture from the space you are leaving on the same project.

Questions About A Whole Office

How much does it cost to furnish a whole office?

The three complete packages on this page run from $18,029.99 for a ten-person startup office to $158,409.99 for an established office of fifty, in furniture. Per person, that is $1,850 to $3,200, depending on how many private offices and meeting rooms the plan carries. Send the headcount and the floor plan and you will have a real number within one business day.

How do you plan a new office?

We walk the space or read the floor plan, take the headcount and the rooms you need, and lay it out with 3D renderings. You approve a plan and a price before anything is ordered. Design and planning are included.

How long from approval to move-in?

Four to eight weeks for made-to-order lines, days for in-stock pieces. We phase deliveries so the floor is ready for your move date and install nights and weekends when the building requires it.

Can I build my own office from the packages?

Yes. Add packages to your quote from any space page and adjust the quantities on the quote page. A room-by-room office builder is in the works; until then, the quote you send us comes back as a full plan and a price.

What happens to our old furniture?

When you leave a space, we decommission the old floor on the same project so you hand the keys back clean. The furniture that still has life gets reused where it makes sense.
