Pricing and Payment

How much does office furniture cost?

A single workstation runs $450 to $1,200 new and $150 to $500 used. A full cubicle station installed usually lands between $900 and $2,400. Task chairs run $250 to $700 new and $75 to $250 used. Send us your square footage and headcount and we'll get you a real number within one business day.

Do you publish prices?

We publish honest ranges on every category page so you can compare us before you call. Exact pricing depends on line, finish, and quantity, so configured projects get quoted. We'd rather show you a range than make you fill out a form to learn whether we're in your budget.

Do you offer volume pricing?

Yes. Larger orders get volume pricing, and the per-station price on cubicles drops as the count goes up because installation gets more efficient. On used orders we pull from matching stock so a bulk order arrives uniform. Tell us the count and we'll price it.

What payment options do you offer?

You can pay upfront, in stages tied to project milestones, or through a longer-term financing plan. Financing suits larger projects and organizations that want to preserve capital for other operational needs. Your project manager will walk you through the options and help you pick the one that fits your budget cycle.

Do you charge for delivery and installation?

Delivery and installation are quoted with the furniture, typically 8 to 15 percent of the furniture cost. You see the figure before you sign, not after. Difficult building access, after-hours work, and long hauls move that number, and we'll say so upfront.

How much can we save buying used?

Most pre-owned furniture lands at 40 to 70 percent below the equivalent new piece, and steel storage runs deeper still. A used Grade A task chair from a premium brand often costs less than a new entry-level chair and will outlast it.

New Office Furniture

What new furniture do you keep in stock?

We hold more than 200 new desks along with chairs, storage, and conference tables in our Columbus warehouse. In-stock items skip the factory lead time entirely. Our QuickShip program covers most standard finishes in about a week.

How long do new special orders take?

Four to eight weeks is typical, depending on the line and finish you pick. Fully custom work can run eight weeks or more. Order volume and seasonal demand move those numbers, so ask a project manager for a date tied to your actual order rather than a general estimate.

What brands do you carry?

We work with a wide range of commercial manufacturers rather than a single line, which lets us combine brands into one coherent office. See Brands We Carry for the full list.

Can we mix new and used furniture?

Yes, and most of our projects do. A common approach is new for anything clients see and used for the back office, or new desks with pre-owned storage. Reusing budget this way often funds a better chair for everyone.

Do new pieces come with a warranty?

New furniture carries the manufacturer's warranty, which runs from five years to lifetime depending on the line. We handle the claim on your behalf rather than handing you a phone number.

Used and Pre-Owned Furniture

What does "used" really mean here?

It means somebody else owned it first. We grade every piece, replace worn parts, and tell you about the scuffs. Grade A looks nearly new. Grade B has light wear you'll stop noticing in a week. As-Is means just what it says, and we price it that way. See How We Grade Used Furniture.

Is there a warranty on used furniture?

Yes. Grade A and Grade B pieces carry a one-year mechanical warranty in writing. If a cylinder, mechanism, drawer slide, or caster fails inside that year, we repair or replace it. Cosmetic condition is graded and disclosed up front instead of warranted.

What brands come through used?

Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, and Allsteel come through constantly, plus HON, Knoll, Teknion, and others as decommission projects land. Stock turns weekly, so what's on the floor today may be gone Friday.

Do you decommission used office furniture?

Yes. What it's worth depends on the quality, the quantity, the manufacturer, and what we're currently able to move. Send photos and a count and we'll tell you honestly whether its resale value can offset your removal cost.

Can I get twenty matching pieces?

Often, because most used inventory arrives from a single office at once and comes in matching sets. Matching quantities of ten to sixty are common. If we can't fill the count from one lot, we'll say so rather than ship you a near-match.

Is used furniture clean?

Every piece is cleaned before it goes on the floor: surfaces wiped, fabric extracted, casters replaced when they don't roll clean. Upholstered pieces that can't be brought back to standard we don't resell at all.

Delivery and Installation

How fast can I get furniture?

For smaller local projects using in-stock inventory, we typically deliver and install within one to two weeks. Same-day or next-day service is sometimes available for an additional charge when timing is critical. Warehouse pickup on in-stock used furniture can happen within 24 hours.

How long do larger projects take?

Projects involving cubicle systems generally need about three to five weeks to accommodate design, preparation, and scheduling. Fully custom projects can run eight weeks or more depending on design complexity and manufacturing timelines. Order volume and seasonal demand affect both.

Do you deliver outside Columbus?

Yes, throughout central Ohio, including Dublin, Westerville, Grove City, Hilliard, Gahanna, New Albany, Delaware, Newark, and Lancaster. We travel farther for larger projects and handle out-of-state installations. See Areas We Serve.

Who does the installation?

Our own crews, not subcontractors. They deliver, assemble, level, test the power, and clean up before they leave. We wipe down surfaces and vacuum when needed, so the space is usable the moment we're out of it.

Can you install after hours or on weekends?

Yes, and for occupied offices it's usually the right call. Evening and weekend installs cost more in labor and cost you nothing in downtime. Most of our larger Columbus projects run Friday night into Saturday.

Do you take away the packaging and our old furniture?

Yes. Cartons, pallets, and shrink wrap leave with the crew. We'll haul off your old furniture on the same trip and resell, donate, or recycle whatever we can.

Can you install furniture we bought somewhere else?

Yes. We install product from other dealers and manufacturers regularly, including furniture that arrived at your dock in boxes. Send us the manufacturer and the piece count for a quote.

Design and Space Planning

Do you charge for space planning?

Every project includes a design consultation and layout at no additional cost. We measure the space, build the plan, and produce 3D renderings so you see the office before you buy anything. See Office Design.

How long does the design process take?

Most projects run two to four weeks from the first walkthrough to a signed layout. The stakeholder reviews, not the drawings, usually set the pace. Multi-floor projects take longer.

We already have an architect. Do we still need this?

Your architect owns the building. We own the furniture inside it, including specifications, lead times, power and data coordination against the furniture plan, and installation. The two roles work alongside each other, and we attend construction meetings when the schedules are tied together.

What is the best layout for a desk in the office?

Because every workplace is unique, the ideal desk layout will depend on the size of your space, how your team collaborates, and the type of work being done. As a starting point, consider how traffic flows through the room and position desks so that employees can move comfortably without disrupting one another. Natural light is another important factor: desks placed perpendicular to windows get daylight without screen glare.

How many people will fit in our space?

A rough planning figure is 6x6 cubicles at 60 to 70 square feet each including aisles, 5x5 stations at 45 to 55, and private offices at 100 to 150. Send us the square footage and a floor plan and we'll lay it out properly.

Moves, Decommissions, and Rentals

Do you handle office moves?

Yes. We move furniture, monitors, and packed contents across Columbus and central Ohio, with crates and labels provided. Four to six weeks of notice is comfortable for a 20 to 50-person move. See Office Relocations.

What happens to furniture we no longer want?

Resale first, donation second, recycling third, landfill last. We can document the disposition if your company reports on waste diversion. If the furniture has resale value, that offsets your removal cost. See Decommissions.

Do you rent office furniture?

Yes, both short-term rentals and long-term leasing. Rentals suit temporary offices, special events, and seasonal projects. Leasing gives you a fully furnished space without the long-term investment. Delivery, setup, and removal at the end of the term are all included.

Can you store furniture until our space is ready?

Yes. We hold orders in our Columbus warehouse when a build-out slips or a certificate of occupancy runs late, which happens more often than anyone plans for. If your timeline changes, tell your project manager and we'll adjust the hold.

Do you handle services beyond furniture?

We'll point you in the right direction even when the work falls outside what we do. We keep relationships with commercial service providers across central Ohio, from electricians to flooring and signage, and we can connect you with the right people.

The Showroom and Ordering

Where are you located?

1517 Alum Industrial Dr N, Columbus, OH 43209, on the east side. It's a 28,000-square-foot showroom and warehouse, open weekdays 9AM to 5PM. Walk-ins are welcome; no appointment needed.

Can I see furniture before I buy?

Please do. Sit in the chairs, open the drawers, and compare a Grade A to a Grade B side by side. Photos flatten scratches and tell you nothing about how a chair feels in hour six.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during business hours and someone will show you around. If you're bringing a group or want a specific person's time, call ahead at 614.332.1828 and we'll make sure they're free.

How do I get a quote?

Call 614.332.1828, email, or use our quote form. Tell us headcount, square footage, and your target date. Most quotes go out within one business day.

How long has Capital Choice been in business?

Since 2005. Chris DiSilvestri founded the company after working as an install technician and seeing the gap in Columbus for affordable, high-quality pre-owned office furniture. Phillip DiSilvestri joined in 2022, making it a family-owned business.
