Privacy Pod Questions We Hear a Lot
Do pods need special electrical or HVAC?
No. They plug into a standard outlet and carry their own ventilation. That's the point: quiet rooms without construction.
Can pods move when we re-stack the floor?
Yes. They disassemble and rebuild in place. We handle the move as part of any re-stack we install.
How much does a privacy pod cost?
A single-person phone booth runs $6,000 to $12,000 new. A two- to four-person meeting pod runs $15,000 to $35,000. Used pods, when we have them, land at 40 to 60 percent of new. Delivery and assembly are usually quoted separately.
How long does a privacy pod take to arrive?
New pods typically run six to twelve weeks from order, and freight is the variable. Used pods in our Columbus warehouse can be installed within a week. If you're on a deadline, ask us what's on the floor before you spec a new one.
How many phone booths does an office need?
A rough rule is one booth per 15 to 20 people in an open plan. If your team is on video calls most of the day, move that closer to one per ten. Two booths in a 40-person office is the most common starting point we see.
Are privacy pods actually soundproof?
They're sound-reduced, not soundproof. A good pod drops 28 to 34 decibels, which means a normal conversation inside reads as a murmur outside. You'll still hear that someone's talking. You won't make out the words, which is the part that matters.
Do pods need a permit or a sprinkler head?
It depends on your jurisdiction and the pod's ceiling design. Many pods are engineered as furniture, which avoids the issue. Some Columbus-area inspectors want a sprinkler head over an enclosed pod. We'll tell you what your building official will likely ask before you buy.
Do you install privacy pods in Columbus?
Yes. Our crew handles delivery, assembly, and placement across Columbus and central Ohio. Pods arrive in panels and get built in the room, so freight elevators and standard doorways are usually fine. We'll confirm the route and power location during the site visit.
