How We Grade Used Office Furniture

"Used" can mean anything. That's why every piece that comes through our warehouse gets inspected and graded before it hits the floor — so when you see a grade on a tag, you know exactly what you're buying, sight unseen.

Three grades. Same standard for every desk, chair, cubicle and file cabinet.

GRADE A

Nearly New

Looks and works like it just left the factory. Cleaned, inspected, and refurbished: worn parts already replaced. Expect at most a faint scuff somewhere you've to hunt for.

Warranty: One-year mechanical, in writing.
Best for: Client-facing spaces, executive offices, anyone who wants new without the price.
GRADE B

Light Wear, Full Function

Everything works. You’ll find honest cosmetic wear — a worn arm pad edge, light fabric pilling, a scratch on a base — the kind you stop noticing in a week.

Warranty: One-year mechanical, in writing.
Best for: Call centers, back offices, high-headcount buildouts where budget wins.
AS-IS

What You See Is What You Get

Sold exactly as it sits, flaws photographed and disclosed. Sometimes that means a broken adjustment lever, sometimes just a piece we didn’t regrade. Priced to move.

Warranty: None. Final sale.
Best for: Warehouses, temporary space, anyone handy with an Allen wrench.

What We Check Before It Hits the Floor

Every piece gets the same walkthrough. Worn parts get replaced, not noted — casters, gas cylinders, arm pads and seat foam are the usual suspects. Anything we can't bring up to grade gets marked As-Is and priced accordingly.

Mechanics — every adjustment lever, cylinder, recline and lock, cycled and tested
Casters and glides — rolled on concrete; flat spots and cracked wheels replaced
Upholstery — cleaned and checked for stains, tears and pilling under showroom light
Surfaces — laminate and veneer checked for chips, burns and water rings
Hardware — drawer slides, locks and keys, hinges, leveling feet
Structure — frames, welds and bases load-checked — wobble is an automatic repair

We Photograph the Flaws

If a piece has anything beyond the wear its grade allows — a scuff, a stain, a mismatched caster — we photograph it and show you before you buy. No surprises on delivery day.

Grading Questions, Answered

What does "used" really mean here?

It means somebody else owned it first. We grade every piece, we replace worn parts, and we tell you about the scuffs. Grade A looks nearly new. Grade B has light wear you'll stop noticing in a week. As-Is means just what it says, and we price it that way.

Who does the grading?

Our own warehouse team, at the shop on Alum Industrial Drive. The same crew that delivers and installs your furniture inspects it, so nobody is grading anything they wouldn't put their name on later.

Can a bulk order mix grades?

We don't mix them without telling you. If you order 20 Grade A chairs, all 20 are Grade A and pulled from matching stock. If stretching to Grade B saves you real money, we'll show you both and let you decide.

What is covered under the one-year warranty?

Mechanical function on Grade A and Grade B pieces: cylinders, recline mechanisms, drawer slides, casters. If it stops working within a year, we repair or replace it. Cosmetic wear disclosed at purchase isn't a defect.
